The lid is the focal point of this piece. Each individual leaf has been carved and textured by hand, with detailed veins and surface work that give the leaves a natural, dimensional appearance. The carved maple contrasts beautifully with the deeply burned black background, creating a striking transition between the natural wood and the darkened surface.
At the center is a gracefully turned maple lid with a sculpted wooden finial. The lower portion of the box has been intentionally kept clean and simple, allowing the carved botanical design to remain the visual focus.
